Standard Pacific Homes - Standard Pacific Model Home Not a Model of Sustainable Housing
The appearance of our home when we bought it was excellent. Little did we or our inspector know that cheap materials and substandard construction were used to build the house.
Unbelievably, after 6 years, the 2 x 8 joists under the deck rotted since the company used untreated wood, even though they knew that the wood would be continually exposed to moisture. Other homes nearby had the same problem. They covered it up by painting the joists so the inspector could not detect the poor construction practice. Moreover, our driveway cracked and spalled after 4 years of exposure and NO we did not use salt on it...
Further, the paint used was the cheapest one could buy and did not stand up to the weather. The did not prime bare wood on the deck rails and the paint quickly flaked off.
Calls to Standard Pacific were not returned and when we persisted we got a brush-off. Do not buy from Standard Pacific.
Monetary Loss: $10000.

Sounds Structural to me, Looks like they own you some money!
Our home had tile, stucco, ac, drywall, as well as other issues. We are still in our warranty period and all this went wrong.
When we schedule the service requests to do warranty repairs, they don't show up, and close the request as though they did. The people you talk to when requesting warranty work are rude, and condescending.
With so many choices, I would reccomend a different builder.
